According to a report from LendEDU, Pennsylvania is number one in a dubious ranking: the top state for student college debt.

Pennsylvania topped all other states with an average of $35,185 in student loan debt per borrower, and 69 percent of its students graduating with debt, according to LendEDU’s analysis of data for the Class of 2016.

Other states that ranked high included New Hampshire, Delaware, Connecticut and South Dakota. States with the lowest student loan debt, according to the report, are Florida, Arizona, California, New Mexico and Utah.
